Real Madrid suffered a scare at the end of the first half of their away fixture against Real Betis, but a second-half showing saw Madrid score 5 goals in consecutive league matches and secure the maximum points. Cristiano Ronaldo was on the scoresheet for Real Madrid to take his goals in the season to 12.
Barcelona was victorious against a 10-man Eibar after getting a goal in each half to pick up three points on the road. Atletico Madrid scored two second-half goals to win at home against Athletic Club and kept the gap between themselves and the top of the league table to 7-points.
Getafe moved a point above Celta Vigo in the league standings after handing them a ‘3-0’ home victory.
Lionel Messi hasn’t had a league goal since the 21st round but remains top scorer in the league with 20 goals.
