A goal in the first minute of their away match against Hellas Verona ended Roma’s winless streak in the league at 6 matches. Unlike Roma, Inter Milan extended their winless run in the league to 8 league matches that include 5 successive draws, and 4 successive ‘1-1’ draws. Roma’s victory brought them a point closer to the top three and added pressure on Inter Milan to get back to their winning ways.

Lazio’s defeat at home to Genoa was good news for Inter Milan and Roma, as it kept the three teams a victory away in the league standings and the race to finish the season in the top four. Lazio’s Ciro Immobile remains top scorer in the league with 20 goals, while Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan) is just two goals away.

After taking a four-goal lead into the half, Gonzalo Higuain scored a hattrick to see that Juventus thrash Sassuolo to ‘7-0’. Despite the Juventus ‘big’ win, Napoli maintained top spot after an away victory over Benevento.

The three teams in the relegation-zone (SPAL 2013, Hellas Verona, Benevento) remain motionless after falling on the wrong end of the score once again.
