After 18 failed attempts, newly-promoted Benevento got their first league victory. A second-half goal handed bottom-table Benevento a home victory over Chievo Verona.
Across the major leagues in Europe, the Italian Serie A is proving to be the most competitive race to the title, but this heated competition might be turning into a two-horse race. Napoli and Juventus were the only winning side in the top five teams in the Serie A League standings at the end of Round 19. Paulo Dybala had to score a second-half brace against Hellas Verona in order to keep Juventus a point away from first place Napoli in the league standings. Marek Hamsik scored another goal to add to his record for Napoli to pick up all three points at Crotone.
Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi remains top scorer in the league with 17 goals.
