2017/18 German Bundesliga – Round 33 – Schalke secures a place in 2018/19 Champions League

It wasn’t a shocker that relegated FC Koln falls at home to the champions Bayern Munich.

Eintracht Frankfurt sent Hamburger SV to the relegation-zone after handing them ‘3-0’ beating.
Hamburger SV’s lifeline will be to secure a victory by beating Borussia Monchengladbach while hoping that FC Koln can win at Wolfsburg.

Leipzig needs an away win and hope for both Hoffenheim and Leverkusen to lose at home.
RB Leipzig put themselves back in position to finish the season in a spot to qualify for the Champions League after a dominating performance saw them win ‘4-1’ at home. RB Leipzig will need a victory at Berlin alongside a Hoffenheim defeat to Borussia Dortmund and a Bayer Leverkusen defeat to Hannover 96.

Despite getting hammered by Leipzig, a point in the final match of the season will be good enough for Wolfsburg to contend in the relegation-playoff matches. A victory could help Wolfsburg secure safety in the league if Freiburg loses to Augsburg.

Mainz 05 defeated Borussia Dortmund to clinch safety in the league while stripping Dortmund the chance to chase for second-place in the league. The result has left Dortmund in a position with a slim possibility of dropping out of the ‘top-four’ in the league standings on the final day.

Schalke 04 secured a place in the Champions League after beating Augsburg.

Which two of these four teams will be joining Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 in the 208/19 UEFA Champions League?

  1. Borussia Dortmund
  2. Hoffenheim
  3. Bayer Leverkusen
  4. RB Leipzig
