A consecutive league defeat for Frankfurt, as they seem to be missing out on their chances of being involved in an European competition for the coming season.
With the title wrapped up, Bayern Munich’s could afford to experiment with their line-up in the final rounds of the season. Three second-half goals ensured a victory for Bayern Munich’s B-team against Eintracht Frankfurt.

FC Koln exits
It looked like Leonardo Bittencourt was going to get FC Koln something from the match until Lucas Holer scored in stoppage time for Freiburg to get the victory help their survival in the Bundesliga while relegating Koln in the process.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Stuttgart

Lucas Alario’s failure to convert an early penalty into a goal for Bayer Leverkusen ended up costing them the match. Christian Genter scored the only goal of the match to hand Stuttgart an away victory that dragged Leverkusen from a ‘UEFA Champions League’ direct qualification.

Hoffenheim vs Hannover 96
Leverkusen’s defeat added value of Hoffenheim’s win against Hannover 96 in the opening match of the round. Andrej Kramaric scored a hattrick to see Hoffenheim enjoy a ‘3-1’ home defeat against a Hannover side that is trying to get out of relegation threat.

The race for 2nd place?
Schalke came from behind to avoid defeat at home to Borussia Monchengladbach, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from the threat of losing their place in the league. Fortunately for Schalke, Borussia Dortmund could not take advantage of their results. Dortmund failed to get the winning goal against Werder Bremen.

Wolfsburg falls into the drop-zone.
In the battle to avoid the drop zone, Hamburger SV defeated Wolfsburg and used the ‘3-1’ away victory to jump over them in the league standings

Does RB Leipzig want to focus on domestic titles for next season?
Naby Keita is handed a red card as his RB Leipzig side goes four league matches winless (3 defeats and a draw).
Alexandru Maxim doubled Mainz’s lead within seconds after entering the game. Mainz moved closer to safety in the league standings from a ‘3-0’ home victory against RB Leipzig.
