Borussia Monchengladbach threw away a two-goal first-half lead to settle for a point at home after a ‘2-2’ draw against Werder Bremen. The match result was a missed opportunity for Monchengladbach to close in on the UCL qualifying spot in the league standings, but a needed point for Werder Bremen in their relegation battle.

RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund took a point each after their fixture ended in a ‘1-1’ draw. The point wasn’t the best result for either side, as Bayer Leverkusen’s victory against Wolfsburg allowed them to move above RB Leipzig in the standings, while Schalke 04 also moved above Borussia Dortmund with a ‘1-0’ home victory against Hertha Berlin.

The battle for the final 3 UEFA Champions League spot for next season remains intense.

Hoffenheim defeated Augsburg to separate themselves on points accumulated. Mainz 05 fought hard to leave Hamburg with a point. Filip Kostic missed a penalty that would have given Hamburger SV a crucial victory over Mainz 05.

Bottom-table FC Koln returned to their winless ways when Mario Gomez scored two late first-half goals to pull Stuttgart from a losing position to an away win against FC Koln.

With 27 points left to play for in the league, Bayern Munich moved 20-points clear at the top of the table after getting two goals in each half to a comfortable away victory against Freiburg.
