An early and a late goal was how Lyon secured their 6th victory of a 7-match undefeated run in the league. Memphis Depay scored a late screamer for Lyon climb to second-place and 8 points away from the top of the league table after handing a 10-man Paris Saint-Germain their second league defeat of the season.
Lyon’s victory over Paris Saint-Germain has brought the chasing pack three points closer to the top of the league table. The chasing three teams in the top four were all winners in the 22nd round of the 2017/18 French Ligue 1.
Paris Saint-Germain could have used an Edinson Cavani goal over the weekend. Despite not getting on the score sheet, Cavani’s position as the top scorer was not under any threat.
