Paris Saint-Germain goes into the winter break at the top of the standings and with a 3-1 victory over Caen to avoid a reduction to their 9-point lead over the rest of the league table. Edinson Cavani scored a goal to contribute to PSG’s victory and took his goals for the season to 19 goals at the top of the goalscoring list.
The rest of the top five teams were all on the winning side in the 19th round of the 2017/18 French Ligue 1.
All the teams in the relegation-zone were undefeated. Strasbourg 6-match unbeaten run came to an end when bottom-table Metz scored three in the second-half to take a home victory. Angers defeat Dijon after coming from an early goal down, and Lille played a draw with Nice.
