Newly-promoted Strasbourg’s fourth victory in the 2017/18 French Ligue 1 season will be a memorable one. Strasbourg did what no other team has done so far in a competitive match against Paris Saint-Germain by handing them a defeat. In a match where Paris Saint-Germain did what was expected by dominating, Stephane Bahoken scored the only goal in the second-half to sealed a home victory for Strasbourg. Edinson Cavani came in late in the second-half to help his PSG side find a point from the match, but the top goalscorer couldn’t add to his goals in this match.
PSG remains top of the league table despite the shocking defeat, but the majority of the chasing pack took full advantage of the dropped points when Radamel Falcao added to his goal tally by scoring the winning goal for Monaco got the maximum points against Angers, Lyon picking up an away victory at Caen, and Marseille picked up a point at Montpellier.
