With the exception of Tottenham, all the favorites had a successful mid-week run in the Premier League. Leicester City dragged Tottenham Hotspurs out of the top end of the league table with a ‘2-1’ victory. Spurs fell further down the league standings when all teams that currently reside in the ‘top 6’, picked up victories. Tottenham’s Harry Kane scored their only goal to become the second player to score a double-digit number of goals in the league.
Mohamed Salah added two goals to Sadio Mane’s winning goal for Liverpool to beat Stoke City. Salah’s two goals extended his lead at the top of the goalscoring list in the league.
Raheem Sterling once again scored the late winning goal for Manchester City to continue their undefeated run and keep the 8-point gap they enjoy at the top of the league table.
Arsenal thrashed newly-promoted Huddersfield Town, while Wayne Rooney contributed a hat-trick to Everton’s ‘4-0’ victory over West Ham United.
