Arsenal will be the 7th team from England to play against the MLS All-Star team.
Every year since 2015, Major League Soccer has invited Europeans teams to play against the best players of the MLS season (MLS All-Stars). In 2016, their opposition in the MLS All-Star match will be Arsenal.
In the past 11 years, eight of the ten teams invited to the competition have been from the English Premiership. One team from the Italian Serie A and the other from the German Bundesliga.
Manchester United and Chelsea are the only teams that MLS All-Star team has played on multiple occasions
The MLS All-Star team has had a winning record against their guest. They’ve won 7 of the 11 All-Star games.
Two losses to Manchester United makes up for 50% of the losses that MLS All-Star team has accrued since they began inviting guests. Roma (Serie A) and Everton (Premiership) make up the other half of the teams that have won against the MLS All-Star team.
