10 games and counting. – How long can Arsenal extend their winning streak?

Posted on

Unai Emery’s Arsenal has won their last 10 competitive matches.

Arsenal’s early defeat in the season could be because he hadn’t had enough competitive matches to figured out his ideal formation, line-up and/or tactics that worked for his new team, or the team hadn’t adapted well to his tactics at that time. The obvious thing about Arsenal’s defeat in their opening games of the Premier League was that it was against opposition that has been superior in recent years (the most recent league title winners in the Premier League).

Whatever the reasons are, Arsenal moved on from those early defeats to go 10 consecutive games of wins.

With every successful match, the team becomes more Unai Emery team and less Arsene Wenger’s. Should Arsenal fail to keep up with their current form going in the fixtures ahead, and should they fall down in the Premier League standings later on in the league, there wouldn’t be enough room to blame past management for team’s performance.
