The FA Cup quaterfinals, De Klassieker, Derby della Capitale, El Clásico, and Superclásico are all par tof the the banging fixtures scheduled for this weekend.

The 29th round of the FRENCH LIGUE 1

After a disappointing week, Paris St. Germain. If they could, they would’ve played this game in Bordeaux.
Paris St. German got the three points through three goals and through a tense atmosphere with their home supporters. The home supporters showed their frustration.

Monaco vs PSG
With a maximum of 30 points left for each club, Paris St. Germain is 15 points clear at the top of the standings in the French Ligue 1. They will be at Monaco for their next fixture.

Marseille, Nice, Rennes, and Strasbourg are gunning for the direct qualification spot to the Champions League.

Marseille vs Nice.
Marseille and Nice are the clubs making it a title race in Ligue 1. They are both on 50 points after 28 matches played. This is a chance for both teams to actively help to decide the final look of the top end of the 2021/22 French Ligue 1 standings.

A win for Rennes and Strasbourg will allow them to take full advantage of the result from “Marseille vs Nice” if they can both pick up wins against teams that are currently fighting to avoid relegation.
Rennes are home against Metz, while Strasbourg is away at Lorient.

Lorient vs Strasbourg
Marseille vs Nice

The relegation battle is alive for 7 teams.
Bordeaux, Metz, and Saint-Etienne have 10 rounds to get the results that will allow them to swap positions with the teams hovering above the relegation zone.

Saint-Etienne vs Troyes. An opportunity for Saint-Etienne to pick up three points against Troyes.

The 30th round of the GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

A maximum of 24 points left for most of the teams in the Bundesliga.

We won’t count on Dortmund to give Bayern a run but a 1-0 win at Mainz has increased the excitement in the Bundesliga title race after Dortmund reduced the gap at the top to 4 points with 8 rounds left to play of the season.

This weekend, Bayern will host Union Berlin while Dortmund will be in Cologne.

Bayern Munich vs Union Berlin
Bayern Munich has dropped points in a ‘1-1’ draw from their last two league games. A 4-point lead isn’t enough to make go three games without a win. The reverse fixture was a 5-2 win for Bayern Munich but Union Berlin took a point in a ‘1-1’ draw from their most recent visit to the Allianz Arena.

FC Koln vs Dortmund
Dortmund’s most recent trip to Cologne ended in a 2-all draw. That can’t happen again if Dortmund has title ambitions.

THE RACE FOR THE TOP-FOUR FINISH IN THE BUNDESLIGA
As things stand, Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, Freiburg, and Hoffenheim are chasing the final two spots for direct qualification to next season’s Champions League.

Hertha Berlin vs Hoffenheim
Greuther Furth vs Freiburg
RB Leipzig vs Frankfurt
Wolfsburg vs Leverkusen

At this point, the question is “Who is going down with Greuther Furth?”
Greuther Furth is 9 points from safety and the results are not looking good. They are surely heading back to the second division.
Hertha Berlin, Stuttgart, Arminia Bielefeld, and Augsburg are the strong contenders to go down with Greuther Furth.

While Greuther Furth searches for points at home against a Freiburg side that is contesting for a top-four finish, Hertha Berlin will be doing the same against a Hoffenheim side that is chasing a top 4 finish.
Stuttgart will battle with Augsburg, while Arminia Bielefeld will be at Mainz.

The 28th round of the SPANISH LA LIGA

El Clasico is here just when the top four is looking familiar in the Spanish La Liga.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will sort things out this weekend in a game that is grand because of its history, and even grander this weekend because of its importance to the title race and the report the result will give about the work the two Spanish giants are doing.
Both clubs are still involved in continental tournaments. Barcelona advanced to the quarterfinal of the Europa League this week after Real Madrid did the same in the Champions League last week.

(El Clásico)
Real Madrid vs Barcelona
With a 10 point lead in the title race, Real Madrid still has some room to make mistakes but since it’s an El Clasico a win is the minimum requirement.

1| Real Madrid {28 games} – 66 points
3| Barcelona {27 games} – 51 points

A steadily improving Barcelona side will be in Madrid to play the champions-elect Real Madrid. It will be a major test for Xavi’s Barcelona.

Cutting the gap to 12 points with a win might not mean much for Barcelona’s season in terms of their odds to win the title but it will be the sign of what is to come for FC Barcelona.

ATLETICO MADRID AND SEVILLA WILL SEARCH FOR THE RIGHT RESULT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE WHATEVER RESULT COME FROM THE EL CLASICO.

Rayo Vallecano vs Atletico Madrid
Sevilla vs Real Sociedad
Celta Vigo vs Real Betis
Cadiz vs Villarreal

Advancing to the Champions League quarter-finals will be a boost in morale for Atletico Madrid when they take on Rayo Vallecano.

Both Seville clubs were knocked out from the Europa League on Thursday in extra time.
Sevilla was beaten in London by West Ham.
Real Betis was beaten in Frankfurt by Eintracht Frankfurt.

The recent results in the league for both teams have put their positions under immense threat. Sevilla’s 2nd place position will be under serious threat if they don’t pick up a win against Real Sociedad while Barcelona and/or Atletico Madrid win their match.

A Real Sociedad win (against Sevilla) will mean Real Betis must beat Celta Vigo to guarantee their position in the standings.

Villarreal will go to Cadiz in a good mood after knocking out Juventus to advance to the Champions League quarter-final.

A Villarreal win at Cadiz will mean Real Sociedad must win against Sevilla to keep their spot.

Scheduled matches in the Spanish La Liga

Athletic Club vs Getafe

March 19.
Alaves vs Granada
Elche vs Valencia
Osausna vs Levante
Rayo Vallecano vs Atletico Madrid

The 30th round of the ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

The pressure is on Manchester City.
The ‘top 3’ teams are involved in a quarterfinal FA Cup fixture this weekend but the pressure is on Manchester City after Liverpool moved a point away from the top of the table after completing a league double against Arsenal.

FA Cup QUARTERFINAL
Middlesbrough vs Chelsea
Crystal Palace vs Everton
Southampton vs Man City
Nottingham Forrest vs Liverpool

The North London clubs (Arsenal and Tottenham) can use this weekend to work their way up the table.

Aston Villa vs Arsenal|
Both teams are coming to this match after defeat in the last round. Both teams seem to be finding their new identity in their form.
Aston Villa was on a 3-game winning streak in the league until a 2-1 defeat to West Ham.
Arsenal was on a 5-game winning streak in the league until the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Tottenham vs West Ham|
They are both on 48 points but Tottenham is with a game in hand. Victory for West Ham will wipe out the advantage Tottenham has with a game in hand.

Aston Villa vs Arsenal

March 20.
Leicester City vs Brentford

The 30th round of the ITALIAN SERIE A

A ‘1-1’ draw in Turin has wiped out Inter Milan’s advantage with their game in hand. AC Milan is now in full control of their destiny with their win at Empoli.
This weekend, Inter Milan will host Fiorentina while AC Milan will be away against Cagliari.
The top three teams in the league are scheduled to play on the same day.

March 19.
Napoli vs Udinese
Inter Milan vs Fiorentina
Cagliari vs AC Milan

Atalanta got through Leverkusen to reach the quarterfinals of the Europa League. They will be at Bologna for results that will (hopefully) help them close in on the top 4.

Bologna vs Atalanta

‘Juventus vs Inter Milan’ is the only fixture left in the season that is completely made up of the clubs that are currently in the ‘top four’.

Juventus vs Salernitana.
Juventus will need a boost in morale after their Champions League exit.
Luckily for Juventus, their league game this weekend will be against bottom-tabled Salernitana.

(Derby della Capitale)
Roma vs Lazio
5| Lazio {29 games} – 49 points
7| Roma {29 games} – 48 points

After booking their place in the quarterfinals of the Conference League, Roma has the Rome derby to attend.
Lazio moved a point above Roma after the last round of games but that will change if Roma becomes the derby winners on Sunday.
Lazio were 3-2 winners in the reverse derby.

DUTCH EREDIVISIE

(De Klassieker)
Ajax vs Feyenoord
1| Ajax {25 games} – 63 points
3| Feyenoord {26 games} 55 points

A win will get Feyenoord in the title race for the last stretch of games left of the Eredivisie season. Ajax is wounded from their midweek Champions League exit.

The real winner here might be PSV Eindhoven. A defeat for Ajax is what PSV Eindhoven will be hoping for.

PSV Eindhoven vs Fortuna Sittard
PSV Eindhoven will know the result from Der Klassieker before they take on relegation-threatened Fortuna Sittard. At three points from the top of the league table, PSV will be fully back in the title race if Ajax drops points.

And in terms of team morale, PSV Eindhoven will have a boost after advancing to the quarterfinal of the Conference League. Ajax on the other hand, might not be in a good mood after the Champions League elimination at home by Benfica.

(Superclásico)
Copa de la Liga
River Plate vs Boca Juniors
