After a terrific performance from Sergio Aguero, John Stones got the winning goal for Manchester City before Leroy Sane got the important insurance goal to see Manchester City go on to the second leg with a 2-goal advantage.
In a sensational 8-goal thriller at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City had to level the score on two occasions to eventually pull away with a victory over Monaco.
Monaco came from a goal down to take the lead at the end of the first half. The first clean chance in the second half was for Monaco. Radamel Falcao wasted a chance to double Monaco’s lead when his weak penalty kick was saved by Wilfredo Caballero. Falcao amended his mistake when he scored to restore Monaco’s lead with a beautiful chip goal; after Sergio Aguero scored an equalizer to get Manchester City lever at 2-2.

With the second leg at the Juventus Stadium, it is difficult to see a comeback for Porto.

Sevilla despite missing a penalty took a one-goal lead into the second half where they doubled it, but Jamie Vardy scored an away goal for Leicester City to have the hope of getting into the quarterfinals with a 1-0 victory or the highly improbable option of winning with more than a goal.
