Transfer Window : Real Madrid has been quiet, Barcelona is replacing their losses.

We are half way in July 2016, and while FC Barcelona is making lots of major moves in transfers, their archrival, Real Madrid has been relatively quiet.

Dani Alves moved from FC Barcelona to Juventus. Alves’s move would be regarded as Barcelona’s biggest loss so far in the summer transfer window. Alves was more than a defender to the team. He helped in the attack and boosted the team morale. The biggest thing Alves possessed that can’t be replaced easily with any purchase of a defender is the experiences. The Brazilian has had 13 years of experience in Spanish football league and 7 of those years was with Barcelona.

Spaniard Marc Bartra has spent all his professional football days trying to be a consistent first team player with Barcelona. At 25, and the state of football and it’s international competitions, it was probably Bartra’s best interest to find a team that needed him, instead of the team he might have felt he needed.

FC Barcelona has already made two key signings to cover the loss of Dani Alves (and Marc Bartra). The team decided to buy French.

French nationals Lucas Digne and Samuel Umtiti are the two defenders signed by FC Barcelona. These are two promising players and just 22 years of age.

Amongst these two new signings, Digne would be the player that could probably offer FC Barcelona what Dani Alves offered the team. Digne just like Alves is a defensive minded player who likes to support attack from the flanks.

Samuel Umtiti would be who most of Barcelona fans will be hoping to be replacing Javier Mascherano. Aside from the rumors about Mascherano leaving Barcelona, the Argentine is getting up there in age. He is still quality, but with the dense football schedule tops teams have in the calendar year, the smart thing is to find cover for all key players. Umtiti will also cover the loss of Bartra.

On the attacking end of the game, Sandro Ramirez left Barcelona to join Malaga. It is a tough spot to be as a reserved attacking player at FC Barcelona. The quality in the Barcelona’s attack is one that is had to cause reshuffle. There are great attacking players in other teams who won’t fit into the attacking style of FC Barcelona.

As the champions of Europe, there is a chance that Zinedine Zidane might not want to temper with his Real Madrid team. The only major signing done is bringing Alvaro Morata back to the team. Morato was born in Madrid, and his football was created in Madrid. He left Real Madrid two years ago to Juventus and has grown in his position as a striker. Morata’s is not a foreign addition to the team. When it comes down to it, Real Madrid has yet to make changes to their squad.

There is more than enough time for more signings to occur. If things were to stay like this, who do you think will be the better side in the coming season?

Real Madrid has a champions league trophy to defend, and a league to win. Barcelona has a league and a Copa del Rey to protect, and then a champions league to win.
