  • After handing Burnley their first win of the Premier League season, Crystal Palace kicked off the round with another league defeat. It was at home this time around. From consecutive 2-0 defeat to a 2-0 win. Newcastle leaped above Crystal Palace in the league standings after a 2-0 win at Selhurst Park. Late goals from Callum Wilson and Joelinton gave Newcastle the win and a perfect bounce back from their defeat against Chelsea.
  • A late penalty call allowed Brighton to take a point at home against Liverpool. Liverpool had two goals ruled out for offside, causing them to suffer their second defeat of the season.
  • Riyad Mahrez scored three as Manchester City put 5 in the net against Burnley. It was a required result for Manchester City after their defeat against Tottenham.
  • Everton are back to a defeat after ending a run of three successive defeats in the last round. A 1-0 defeat at home to Leeds United also meant that Everton have gone three home games without a win. On the balance of play, this was a deserved victory for Leeds United. Raphinha’s low strike from outside the box ended up being the only goal of the match; handing Leeds their first league win in four games.
  • West Brom picked up their first win of the season to leave Sheffield United as the only team in the league that haven’t had a victory in the opening 10 rounds of the season. Connor Gallagher’s goal in the 13th minute held till the final whistle.
  • A second-half comeback from Manchester United to avoid a defeat at Southampton.
  • Many would have expected a close game, just not a goalless game. Chelsea and Tottenham share the points in a 0-0 game at Stamford Bridge.
  • A third straight home defeat in the league for Arsenal after falling to a 2-1 defeat against Wolves.
  • On a night when a win at home would have allowed Leicester City to equal the most points in the league, Fulham picked up their second win of the season to deny Leicester City. A 2 goal lead that the half was protected well enough by Fulham to see it through and grab a 2-1 win.
  • Ollie Watkins missed a chance to get Aston Villa level when he failed to convert a penalty into a goal in the 74th-minute, and had a late equalizing goal ruled out by VAR. West Ham moved a point away from the top four after a 2-1 win against Aston Villa. It’s three wins on the bounce for West Ham since defeat to Liverpool; and a consecutive defeat for Aston Villa.
