Barcelona – Athletic Club (Copa del Rey – Round of 16 – Second Leg)

January 11, 2017

Athletic Club is coming into this fixture with a 2-1 home victory over Barcelona from the first leg of this round.  As long as they can keep the score level and abide by the away goal rules, Athletic Club should be looking to advance in the competition.

Looking at their place in the La Liga, this wouldn’t be the time for FC Barcelona to bow out of a domestic competition.  Playing at home in this fixture should give a boost.  If they can keep the back door shut and not concede a goal, Barcelona would just need to score a goal to kick out Athletic Club from the Copa del Rey

Leicester City  Chelsea (Premier League)

January 14, 2017

A fixture that puts the defending champions against the current league leaders.

Chelsea would be looking to take points away from the team that took away their Premier League title.

Leicester City has not done a good job in defending their league title, but they do surprise us when they play big games at home.

Manchester United  Liverpool (Premier League)

January 15, 2017

This is an English classic. The two most successful sides in English football go head-to-head once again. Their last meeting produces a very rare goalless draw.

The results from this fixture will have a strong impact the shape at the top end of the league standings.

Sevilla – Real Madrid (La Liga)

January 15, 2017

The current top two teams in La Liga would be going against each other to stretch or tighten up the race.

Real Madrid on top of the league table and remains undefeated after 16 rounds of the 2016/17 La Liga season.

Second place Sevilla is looking to cut Real Madrid lead down to a point with a home victory from this fixture.  (Real Madrid has a game in hand)
