It is the final day of the season across Europe’s top five leagues this weekend.
Teams get to finally lift up the league title, others will have to win it first to lift it.
Some teams are looking to qualify for competitions in the coming season, while others are looking to confirm their status in the top flight.
There are many ways teams are going to celebrate and mourn.
THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE
With the title and relegation list decided, the race for Champions League football and the Europa League football is what remains in the Premier League.
Liverpool is going to the final game of the season in the position they’ve been chasing since they lost track of the league title. Liverpool took 4th place in the league by using a 3-0 win at Burnley to take advantage of the ‘Chelsea vs Leicester City’ results.
A +4 goal difference allows Liverpool to take the final Champions League qualifying spot in the league. As long as they match the result of Leicester on the final day, Liverpool will be playing the Champions League next season.
Tottenham can advance to the Europa League group stage with a win against Leicester City.
Leicester City will need the win to boost their odds of qualifying for the Champions League.
With a victory, Leeds United can qualify for the Europa League play-offs. But it will require the teams above them to suffer defeat on the final day.
Should Everton pick up a win against Manchester City, they will boost their chance of getting to the Europa League play-off stage. This will require Tottenham to lose against Leicester City.
Defeats for Everton and Tottenham in their respective games will allow Arsenal to get a place in the Europa League playoffs with a win against Brighton.

Werder Bremen will need to match the result of FC Koln to stay out of relegation. They will need a win (while Armina Bielefeld fails to win) to get out of the relegation zone.

THE SPANISH LA LIGA
What we know with a round left to go in the La Liga is that the title will remain in Madrid.
Atletico Madrid are a win away from being champions. They will need a victory against Valladolid on the final day of the season.
Atletico Madrid scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation time to come from a goal down and win their match against Osasuna. It was a required victory for Atletico Madrid to keep top spot after Real Madrid took the lead in their game against Athletic Club.
Real Madrid will play against a Villarreal side coming into the game after thrashing a top four side. With a win, Real Madrid has a chance to win the league. With a win Villarreal has a chance at clinching the Europa League.
Real Madrid will need a win and Atletico Madrid’s failure to win, while Villarreal will need a win and hope Real Betis and.or Real Sociedad drop points or lose.
The other end of the league standings is open.
Valladolid will need to win against Atletico Madrid to stand a chance on the last day of the season.
Elche will need a win against Athletic Club.
Huesca are only safe if Elche and Valladolid are beaten.
Huesca will host Valencia on the final day. As expected, a win will do for them as well.

With the top 2 getting direct qualification to the Champions League, the teams occupying the top four spots in the league standings have something to fight for on the last day.
Lille would have won the league with a win in the last round but they were held to a goalless draw at home by Saint-Etienne. Paris St. Germain used a 4-0 win against Reims to take the title race to the final day of the season. Goal difference ruled Monaco out of the title but not out for finishing with the most points in the league.
THE RELEGATION-PLAYOFF SPOT IS WHAT THE TEAMS AT THE BOTTOM END OF THE LIGUE 1 STANDINGS ARE TRYING TO AVOID. Nantes is the current occupants.
Lyon relegated Nimes after handing them a 5-2 defeat. With Nimes and Dijon occupying the relegation spots, the relegation-playoff spot is what teams are trying to avoid on the last day.
Nantes will make a push on the last day of the season to skip relegation playoffs.

With one more round to go, the final two Champions League spots left in the league will be contested for by AC Milan, Napoli, and Juventus.
In the last round, Atalanta joined Inter Milan as the teams representing Serie A in the Champions League, while AC Milan missed out on the opportunity to qualify for the Champion League after failing to get a win at home against Cagliari.
Napoli and AC Milan will both have to match the result Juventus get on the final day to keep their place in the ‘top 4’.
AC Milan will have to go to Bergamo for three points against Atalanta.
Napoli will host Hellas Verona, while Juventus will be away to Bologna.
Of the three teams that are in the contest, Juventus will be the biggest disappointment to not make it to next season’s Champions League competition.
