The UEFA Champions League after MD 3: Barcelona thrashes Bayern.

 

Aston Villa and Liverpool are the only two sides left with a perfect winning record after three rounds of games. Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, Brest, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Monaco, and Sporting CP join them to make it nine teams unbeaten.

Bologna, PSV Eindhoven, and Shakhtar Donetsk are among the nine teams still without a win, but unlike the other six, these three have managed to put points on the table. Red Star Belgrade, RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg, Slovan Bratislava, Sturm Graz, and Young Boys remain without a point.

::: Tijjani Reijnders scored a brace to restore AC Milan’s lead after Kyriani Sabbe equalized in the 51st minute, following Christian Pulisic’s opening goal. AC Milan went on to win their first Champions League game of the new season, beating a 10-man Club Brugge 3-1.
::: Monaco remained unbeaten by keeping Red Star Belgrade with 100% losing record for the start of the campaign. Takumi Minamino scored twice, but it was Breel Embolo’s goal at the end of the first half that proved to be the winning goal in Monaco’s 5-1 victory over Red Star Belgrade.
::: An own goal handed Arsenal the lead in the 29th minute and decided the match in their home win over Shakhtar Donetsk.
::: Two second-half goals made it three wins in three for Aston Villa after a 2-0 win over Bologna.
::: Girona won their first match of the Champions League, beating Slovan Bratislava 2-0. Both teams entered the match having lost all their games up to this point, but Girona made home advantage count and got their first points at Slovan Bratislava’s expense.
::: Enzo Millot could have scored the winning goal through a penalty in the 86th minute but failed to convert. In the end, he assisted El Bilal Toure, who scored the game’s only goal in the second minute of added time, giving Stuttgart a 1-0 win in Turin against Juventus. Stuttgart secured their first win of the Champions League season, a result that ended Juventus’ perfect start to the campaign.
::: The home side had the better chances to win, but in the end, PSG and PSV played to a 1-1 draw in Paris.
::: It looked like Borussia Dortmund were going to make it three wins in three at halftime, but we knew better. They’ve done it so often that it isn’t a shock. Real Madrid, down 2-0 at the break, came back with five goals in the second half to beat Borussia Dortmund. Vinicius Junior scored a hat-trick in the comeback.
::: Sturm Graz lost their third game in three after a 2-0 defeat at home to Sporting CP. The result keeps Sporting CP unbeaten this season.

::: Brest remained unbeaten, coming from a goal down to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen.
::: Jonathan David scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in the 74th minute, then sealed the victory with another goal in the 89th minute as Lille came from behind to beat Atlético Madrid 3-1.
::: Marko Arnautović failed to convert a penalty in the 48th minute for Inter Milan, but Marcus Thuram found a late winner in the third minute of added time to secure a 1-0 victory against Young Boys.
::: Raphinha scored a hat-trick for Barcelona, with his first goal coming in the opening minute. Barcelona cruised to a 4-1 win against Bayern Munich. Hansi Flick and Robert Lewandowski got one over their former club.
::: Dinamo Zagreb secured their first Champions League win of the season at RB Salzburg’s expense, leaving Salzburg with three defeats in three. Salzburg conceded in the 49th minute, then went down a man when goalkeeper Alexander Schlager received a red card for handling the ball outside the penalty box to deny a goalscoring opportunity. Dinamo Zagreb capitalized on their numerical advantage, doubling their lead in the 84th minute.
::: It was a comfortable home win for Manchester City, thrashing Sparta Prague 5-0, with Erling Haaland scoring twice.
::: Darwin Núñez’s goal in the 27th minute was enough for Liverpool to leave Leipzig with a 1-0 win over RB Leipzig.
::: Feyenoord went to Lisbon and thrashed Benfica 3-1, with Antoni Milambo scoring twice.
