Atletico Madrid was in desperate need of a win against Getafe to bounce back from the 4-2 defeat to Barcelona.
Atletico Madrid came up on top in a thrilling 7- goal match with Getafe.
In the first half, Atletico Madrid recovered from blowing a 2- goal lead to send the match to the halftime break at a 3-3 draw.
In the second half, Atletico Madrid recovered from going down a player [Felipe was sent off in the 58th minute for a reckless tackle] to grab the only goal of the second half in the 89m minute.

ALAVES 2- 1 VALENCIA
7 defeats and 4 draws later, Alaves grabbed their first league game in 12 matches to extend Valencia’s winless run to six matches; including 4 defeats.

LEVANTE 2- 4 REAL BETIS
Nabil Fekir scored two goals to help Real Betis do what was expected of them against a struggling Levante side.

ESPANYOL 2- 2 BARCELONA
Barcelona needed the points from the Catalan derby to guarantee their stay in the top four.
Luuk de Jong entered the match in the 88th minute and saved Barcelona from a Catalan derby defeat.
Luuk de Jong scored in the sixth minute of the final added minutes to stop Barcelona from following an impressive win over the defending champions (Atletico Madrid) with a derby defeat against Espanyol.
While Espanyol will not be impressed with failing to see their lead through to a win, Barcelona won’t be impressed with allowing points to drop in a game that ‘on paper’ was theirs to win. In the end, both teams will be happy with the outcome.

MALLORCA 3-2 ATHLETIC CLUB
Mallorca got a late goal to recover from blowing away a 2-goal lead in the second half against Athletic Club.
