Almeria came from a goal down on two occasions but Andres Guardado’s goal in the 70th minute got Real Betis the win. A back-to-back league defeat for Almeria, as Real Betis ended a back-to-back league defeat.
Sevilla bounced back from defeat against Barcelona. Mallorca followed a win against Real Madrid with a defeat. Sevilla beat Mallorca 2-0.
Memphis Depay scored in the 88th minute to get Atletico three points at Celta Vigo’s expense. Depay’s first goal for Atletico Madrid was a game-winning goal to stretch their unbeaten run to five matches.
Atletico Madrid is unbeaten in the league since the defeat against Barcelona. (3 wins, 2 draws).
While Real Madrid is contesting for the Club World Cup, Barcelona used a win against Villarreal to widen the point margin in the La Liga title race.
It was a narrow victory for Barcelona but the three points are what counts. A goal from Pedri was enough to get Barcelona a 6th straight league wins through a ‘1-0’ away win against Villarreal.
Real Madrid celebrated their 5th Club World Cup title with a 4-0 win at home against Elche. The win is only good enough to cut Barelona’s lead down to 8 points. The game was virtually done by the half after Karim Benzema scored two goals from the penalty spot in the first half to add to Marco Asensio’s 8th-minute match opening goal.
