Matches

The highlighted fixtures to occupy our weekend before the final month of the year.

Brighton vs Liverpool (English Premier League)
Liverpool without key players have managed to get the results to remain at the top end of the Premier League table.
With Tottenham having to go away against Chelsea, Liverpool has a good shot of claiming the top spot at the end of the round with a win against Brighton.

Manchester City vs Burnley (English Premier League)
Burnley won their first league game of the season in the last round from a narrow 1-0 win against Crystal Palace. Now they have to go up against a Manchester City side that are looking to make-up for their defeat against Tottenham in the last round.

Everton vs Leeds (English Premier League)
After ending a streak of 3 defeats with a narrow victory against Fulham, Everton takes on Leeds United.
Of the promoted sides in the Premier League this season, Leeds United are expected to be the best performing side of the newly-promoted clubs. Apart from picking a point against Manchester City (which doesn’t carry the weight it used to), and putting an end to Aston Villa’s unbeaten start, Leeds are barely picking up the points.

West Brom vs Sheffield United (English Premier League)
If they remain consistent, we should be getting a draw.
West Brom and Sheffield United are the only teams in the Premier League that have not registered a win since the start of the 2020/21 season.
Now they get a shot at each other.

Southampton vs Manchester United (English Premier League)
Southampton has a 4-point lead as things stand, but Manchester United has a game in hand to make up the difference with wins.
Manchester United are picking up good form and Southampton are unbeaten in the league since they opened the season with 2 defeats.

Chelsea vs Tottenham (English Premier League)
A London Derby –
Tottenham will travel to Stamford Bridge after an impressive success at home against Manchester City in the last round.
Chelsea are 13 games unbeaten in all competitions; with their only defeat all season coming against Liverpool in the second round of the Premier League season.

With Tottenham being top of the table and Chelsea within a win from the top, the result from this fixture will impact the top end of the Premier League table.

Dortmund vs FC Koln (German Bundesliga)
A point from the top. Dortmund must keep up with wins to hopefully put an end to Bayern Munich’s title winning streak in the Bundesliga.
They will be taking on FC Koln; a side without a league win this season in the Bundesliga.
This should be a clear cut win for Dortmund to maintain the pace at the top.

RB Leipzig vs Arminia Bielefeld (German Bundesliga)
RB Leipzig also have a struggling Arminia Bielefeld at home.

Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich (German Bundesliga)
With Dortmund, Leverkusen, and Leipzig having favorable fixtures, Bayern can’t drop points against Stuttgart after dropping points against Werder Bremen in the last round.

Monchengladbach vs Schalke (German Bundesliga)
The last time Schalke won a Bundesliga match was against Monchengladbach; and that was on January 17, 2020. It’s been 24 straight league games without a win for Schalke.
They meet Monchengladbach again; away from home this time around.

Leverkusen vs Hertha Berlin (German Bundesliga)
Only Bayern Munich has more points in the league than Leverkusen. A win against Hertha Berlin could see them and the round top of the bale.

Valencia vs Atletico Madrid (Spanish La Liga)
A win for Atletico Madrid and a defeat for Real Socieadad will end the round with Atletico at the top of the standings.
Atletico Madrid will make their case as the title favorite with a win at Valencia.

Huesca vs Sevilla (Spanish La Liga)
The search for the first win of the season in the Spanish La Liga continues for Huesca. Their next try will be against Sevilla. (not likely)

Real Madrid vs Alaves (Spanish La Liga)
A win against Alaves would end Real Madrid’s current run of two league games without a win.

Barcelona vs Osasuna (Spanish La Liga)
Barcelona must bounce back from defeat against Atletico Madrid with a win against Osasuna. Both teams are tied on 11 points (with Barcelona having a game in hand).

Real Sociedad vs Villarreal (Spanish La Liga)
To keep their place at the top of the league standings, Real Sociead must win against Villarreal. Only four points between the two teams.

Sassuolo vs Inter Milan (Italian Serie A)
A bad weekend for the Milan teams will allow Sassuolo to climb to the top of the league standings in Serie A.

Sassuolo are two points from the top of the league. A defeat for AC Milan in their match against Fiorentina will allow Sassuolo to finish the round as league leaders with a win against Inter Milan.

Bologna vs Crotone (Italian Serie A)
Crotone will be hoping their first win of the season will be at Bologna.

AC Milan vs Fiorentina (Italian Serie A)
AC Milan must get through Fiorentina to keep their place at the top of the Serie A standings.

Napoli vs Roma (Italian Serie A)
Roma are a win from the top of the table.
Napoli are a win from equaling Roma’s point tally of the season.
Who will come out on top in Naples?

Paris St. Germain vs Bordeaux French Ligue 1
After their winning run in the league was interrupted by a defeat at Monaco, Paris St. Germain must do the necessary and pick up a win against Bordeaux to avoid losing top spot in the league standings by the end of the round.

Saint-Etienne vs Lille (French Ligue 1)
Should the improbable happen and PSG are held by Bordeaux, a win for Lille against a Saint-Etienne side that have been sinking for weeks; will see Lille at the top of the league standings at the end of the round.
