Bayern ‘should’ have been crowned Champions by now.
A shock ‘2-1’ defeat against Mainz denied Bayern the title winning victory.

RB Leipzig were the only side in the ‘top 4’ to win. The other three teams suffered defeat in their respective matches.
With 9 points left to do, Bayern Munich’s lead was reduced to 7 points. They will get the job done with another win.
Robert Lewandowski added to his scoring tally on his return from injury.
Dortmund moved a point away from Champions League qualification.

Hertha Berlin have 3 games in hand. They will be out of the relegation zone if they find success from their matches in hand.
Relegated Schalke will surely finish at the bare bottom of the league standings.

LEADING GOALSCORERS
Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) – 36 goals
Erling Haaland (Dortmund) – 25 goals
Andre Silva (Frankfurt) – 25 goals
Wout Weghorst (Wolfsburg) – 20 goals

In their push to survive relegation, FC Koln followed up their win against RB Leipzig with another against Augsburg. Ondrej Duda was on the scoresheet twice in the win.

Freiburg used a penalty to get even and avoid a home defeat to Hoffenheim. They shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

Bayern Munich could have won the league on the day with a win at Mainz. Instead, they were 2 goals down at the end of the opening half, and could only cut the lead in half in the second half. Robert Lewandowski returned from injury and scored in his first game back. His goal halved Mainz’s lead but didn’t get Bayern the win to defend the title.

It was a fourth straight league defeat for Werder Bremen. Joel Pohjanpalo’s second half hattrick handed Union Berlin a 3-1 win against Werder Bremen. It was the bounce Union Berlin needed after their defeat to Dortmund.

Just like in the reverse fixture, Dortmund were 2-0 winners against Wolfsbug.
Erling Haaland scored two goals to get Dortmund an important victory at Wolfsburg. Haaland moved up to 25 goals in the league and Dortmund moved up to a point from Champions League qualification.

Leverkusen beat Frankfurt to drag them closer to the exit of the ‘top 4’.

RB Leipzig did their part to take advantage of Bayern Munich’s defeat and extend the title race by taking three points from a 2-0 win over Stuttgart.
Monchengladbach are 3-0 up in the opening 20 minutes against Arminia Bielefeld. A 5-0 win against Arminia Bielefeld was how Monchengladbach bounced back from their midweek defeat at Hoffenheim.
