Two goals in the opening half lead RB Leipzig to opening the round with a 2-1 win against Augsburg.

Two goals in the dying minutes of the game got Mainz on level termas to leave Leverkusen with a point.

Dortmund did enough to avoid defeat but not enough to get the needed win at home to help their cause of living up to their pre-season expectation.

Hertha Berlin escaped Stuttgart with a point after an 82nd-minute equalizing goal from Luca Netz.

Schalke are with just a win all season. They remain bottom of the league standings after a goalless match with Union Berlin.

Andre Silva scored his 18th goal of the season as Frankfurt went on to a fourth straight win with a 2-0 victory against FC Koln.

Wolfsburg are held at home to a goalless draw by Monchengladbach. A point was the best Monchengladbach could do after defeat at home to FC Koln in the last round.

They started out slow and almost suffered defeat at home after winning the Club World Cup title, but Bayern Munich came in the second half to seal a point from a 3-3 draw with Arminia Bielefeld. Bayern were 2-0 down in the opening half and won the closing half 3-1.
