THE TOP TEAMS WERE BEATEN, BUT KEPT THEIR PLACE AS TOP TWO

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

There wasn’t a positional change in the ‘top 7’; with Dortmund and Monchengladbach being the only winners in the 7. Dortmund and Monchengladbach wins came against the top two teams.
The top two teams did make any gains in point(s) but kept their position.
Third place Leverkusen added a point to their tally.
Dortmund narrowed the gap between themselves and Leverkusen to a point.
Union Berlin and Wolfsburg stayed even after playing out a draw.
Monchengladbach used a win against Bayern Munich to move a point out of the top 6.

In the relegation zone.
Schalke moved from the bottom of the league table after sealing their first league victory of the season.
Mainz replaced Schalke at the bottom.
Armina Bielefeld’s win in the final match of the round allowed them to move out of the bottom three.
FC Koln fell a point down to complete the bottom three teams in the standings.

A consecutive league victory for Monchengladbach after 4 games without.
Robert Lewandowski scored his 20th goal of the season, but Bayern Munich managed to blow a 2-goal lead to suffer their second league defeat of the season; and their second against Monchengladbach (under Hans Flick). Florian Nehaus redeemed himself by scoring the game winning goal for Monchengladbach after his silly handball foul in the penalty box led to the penalty that allowed Robert Lewandowski to open the scoring for the game with his 20th league goal of the season.

 

 

Patrik Schick scored in the 70th-minute to save Leverkusen from a home defeat; and secure a point
against Werder Bremen.

(3 defeats and a draw). It was 4 league games without a win for FC Koln after five different scorers gave Frieburg a win against Freiburg. Two in the opening half and the rest in the closing half. It was Freiburg’s 5th straight league win after a stretch of 9 games without one.

Three straight wins for Frankfurt after 9 games without.
Andre Silva scored a brace from the penalty spot to give Eintracht Frankfurt a win at Mainz.

It took 31 attempts but Schalke finally picked up a league win while putting in that ’04’.
Schalke picked up their first three points of the season from a 4-0 home win over Hoffenheim. Amine Harit assisted three and scored the final goal of the game. All three of Harit’s assists went to Matthew Hoppe. Hoppe became the first American to score a Bundesliga hat-trick. He did so on a night he scored his debut goal.

A 10-man Wolfsburg side picked a win at Berlin. It finished a 2-2 draw between Union Berlin and Wolfsburg.

Borussia Dortmund got the win to stay 3 points clear in the top 4, while saving Bayern from losing out on top spot. Eling Braut Haaland added two goals to Jadon Sancho’s opening goal of the game to seal the win for Dortmund at Leipzig.

Stuttgart were 3-1 up before Augsburg were reduced to 10 men.

Arminia Bielefeld picked up a narrow 1-0 win in an evenly contested game against Hertha Berlin.
