The gap at the top remains at 2 points after both Bayern Munich and Dortmund picked a win over the weekend after their midweek elimination from the German Cup.
Union Berlin fell three points further away from the ‘top 2’ after a defeat against Dortmund.
RB Leipzig moved up a position to 4th with their win in Berlin, as Freiburg fell to 5th after their defeat against Bayern.
Bayer Leverkusen moved above Frankfurt.


Stuttgart used a win against Bochum to climb two points up from teh bottom of the league, while Schalke dropped to the bottom of the league standings after defeat in the final game of the round (against Hoffenheim).

(Both teams were coming from a midweek defeat in the German Cup) Dortmund bounced back from Der Klassiker defeat and DFB-Pokal exit with a 2-1 win over Union Berlin.
Youssoufa Moukoko scored the game-winning goal in the 79th minute after Kevin Behrens had evened the score in the 61st minute.

4 goals were evenly shared between Mainz and Werder Bremen, with the first goal coming in the 85th minute. Werder Bremen quickly came from a goal down on two occasions to get a point at Mainz

FC Koln won their first match in seven after a 3-1 win at Augsburg.

Bayer Leverkusen is unbeaten in 6 matches (5 wins) after their 3-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Frankfurt is without a league win in 6 matches. (3 defeats).

Monchengladbach won their first league game in 6 matches (since their 3-2 win over Bayern Munich).
It was Wolfsburg’s first defeat in 6 matches.

Stuttgart bounced back from a 3-0 defeat against Union Berlin with a 3-2 win over Bochum. It was Stuttgart’s first win in their last 6 league matches (4 defeats).

Hoffenheim win three games in a row after a 2-0 win over Schalke. Hoffenheim had gone 15 competitive matches without a win (14 of them being league matches), and 13 defeats (12 of them being league matches).
