German Bundesliga

The German Bundesliga after 18 rounds: Union Berlin is a point from the top of the league table.

The second half of the season kicks off with the title race getting tighter.
Bayern Munich’s lead was reduced to a point after dropping points in a 1-1 draw with Frankfurt.
A Berlin derby win moved Union Berlin a point from the top of the league.
Dortmund moved up a position (into the Top 4) with their win at Leverkusen.
Frankfurt fell two positions down to 6th.
A win against Augsburg moved Freibuer up a position to 5th.
Schalke remains firmly at the bottom of the league standings despite being the only side among the prime members of the current relegation avoidance race to pick up a point.

Dominik Szoboszlai scored two goals for RB Leipzig to follow a ‘6-1’ win at Schalke with a 2-1 win against Stuttgart. The last four league matches for Stuttgart are made up of two defeats and two draws.

Freiburg won their first game since the restart of the Bundesliga season.
Lucas Holer scored the game-winning goal in the 30th minute, just after Mergim Berisha had scored an equalizing goal to level the score at ‘1-1’ for Augsburg in the 29th minute through a penalty. Freiburg went on to win 3-1.

Berlin is RED!
Hertha Berlin suffered a third straight league defeat and their fifth straight defeat in the Berlin derby after losing 2-0 at home to Union Berlin.

Hoffenheim are without a win in their last eight matches after a 4-1 defeat at home against a Monchengladbach team that came to the match on the back of a consecutive league defeat. Jonas Hoffman scored two goals in the first half to fund a 4-1 win for Monchengladbach against Hoffenheim.

Mainz went a goal up in the match’s opening minute and did not look back. Karim Oniwiso scored a hattrick that included the game-winning goal to help Mainz follow their home defeat against Dortmund with a 5-2 home win at home against Bochum.

Niclas Fullkrug’s brace handed Werder Bremen a win to bounce back from four league defeats in a row (including a 6-1 defeat against Bayern Munich and a 7-1 defeat against FC Koln). The shock about this outcome is that Wolfsburg came to this game on an ’11-0′ aggregate win in their last two matches.

Bayern Munich has dropped six points from a possible nine with three consecutive ‘1-1’ draws. Randal Kolo Muani’s goal canceled out Bayern Munich’s first-half lead and got Frankfurt a point in Munich.

A ‘2-0’ win was Dortmund’s third league victory in a row and handed Leverkusen their first league defeat in six matches.
