It was a evenly contested game, but Hoffenheim capitalized on home advantage, securing a 3-1 victory over Bochum and establishing a 10-point gap between the two clubs. This result marked Hoffenheim’s first league win in five games and Bochum’s first defeat in six league games.

From the start, Frankfurt showed more attacking intent, and their sustained pressure resulted in a three-goal lead by the 36th minute. They took a 3-1 lead into halftime against Bayern Munich. Five minutes after the restart, Frankfurt restored their three-goal advantage, and they were four goals up by the hour mark. They ultimately secured all three points with a 5-1 victory over Bayern Munich. Frankfurt had not won in their previous five matches, and they were on the verge of a third consecutive league defeat.

We hardly saw it coming, but Union Berlin won their first competitive game in 17 matches with a ‘3-1’ home victory against Monchengladbach. Union Berlin, with a game in hand, is now 6 points behind Monchengladbach.

Werder Bremen secured their first league win in five matches with a ‘2-0’ victory over Augsburg, marking Augsburg’s first league defeat in seven games.

Wolfsburg followed a league defeat at Bochum in the last round with a ‘1-0’ league loss at home to Freiburg, sandwiched by a midweek DFB-Pokal defeat between the two.

After dropping points in Leverkusen last round and getting knocked out of the DFB-Pokal by Stuttgart midweek, Dortmund could only manage a home defeat to RB Leipzig. This result saw RB Leipzig open up a four-point lead over Dortmund in the standings. Dortmund were reduced to ten men in the 15th minute when Mats Hummels was shown a red card. Niklas Sule was brought on to help defensively at the expense of some attacking strength, replacing Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. Sule went on to score at the end of the first half to level the score after Leipzig had taken the lead through an own goal by Ramy Bensebaini in the 32nd minute. Despite RB Leipzig having the numerical advantage, Yusuf Poulsen’s goal in the end proved to be the difference, as they secured all three points against Dortmund.

Leverkusen came from a goal down to get a point in back-to-back league games, remaining unbeaten and on top of the Bundesliga table. They followed a 1-1 draw at home against Dortmund with a 1-1 draw away against Stuttgart.
