FRENCH LIGUE 1

Paris St. Germain passed the Classique test in the final game of the round to ensure all the teams in the ‘top four’ coming into the round finished as winners in this round.
Lille kept top spot after Jonathan David’s brace at Nantes.
Lyon held on to second place after Depay’s brace helped them to a win at home against Strasbourg.
Monaco kept 4th place after winning a 7-goal thriller at Nimes. Aleskandr Golovin scored three.

Lorient used a 1-0 win against Reims to stretch their unbeaten run in the league to 4 games.
Lyon did their part in the title race with a 3-0 victory against a 10-man Strasbourg.

Bordeaux lost the lead to lose their third straight league game after a 2-1 defeat to Brest. It was Brest’s first win in 6 matches; and they narrowed the gap between the two teams in the standings to 2 points.

Montepller won 4-2 in an entertaining encounter with Dijon. It was the first win for Montpellier in 10 league games. And it’s fitting it came against a team in relegation.

Aleksandr Golovin scored a hattrick but it was Kevin Volland’s goal that handed Monaco the three points after a 4-3 win at Nimes.

Saint-Etienne got the win against Metz through an early own goal. It’s three games without defeat for Montpellier.

Jonathan David scored in the opening ten minutes and in the final ten minutes of the match to get Lille a 2-0 win at Nantes.

Kylian Mbappe scored his 16th goal of the season to win Le Classique for Paris St. Germain. Paris St. Germain returned favore and made up for their defeat in the first half of the season.
