The French Ligue 1 after 10 rounds : Paris St. Germain’s 9 point lead is restored

LIGUE 1
Paris St. Germain returned to the league football with a win that ended up re-stalling their 9 point lead in the title race.
Montpellier’s win against Lens helped Paris St. Germain restored the 9-point lead after the gap was reduced to 6 points following their defeat against Rennes in the previous round.
Despite the defeat, Lens remained in second place since Nice was also on the losing end in this round.
Nice dropped to 4th, while Marseille moved up two positions with their victory against Lorient.

Angers dropped a position down to 5th following their defeat in Paris.

Rennes and Strasbourg moved up into the top half of the standings by making four positional moves up. Rennes to 7th and Strasbourg to 8th.
Nantes gained a point at Bordeaux to keep 9th place.

Moncao fall from 6th to 10th in the standings after a defeat at Lyon, while Lyon made the opposite move.

Defending champions Lille’s defeat against newly-promoted Clermont Foot dropped Lille into the bottom half of the standings.

Brest picked up a point against Reims but that didn’t change the look of the bottom three. Brest and Saint-Etienne remain without a win after 10 rounds.

Gaetan Laborde (Rennes) leads the scoring list with 7 goals.

PARIS ST. GERMAIN 2- 1 ANGERS
Paris St. Germain had to come from a goal down for the win to avoid successive league defeats.
Goals from Danilo Pereira and Kylian Mbappe secured the three points against an Angers team that was playing for a place in the top three of the Ligue 1 standings.

LYON 2- 0 MONACO
Lyon moved two points above Monaco with a 2- 0
victory. Karl Toko Ekambi broke the deadlock when he converted a penalty kick into the game-winning goal in the 75th minute.

TROYES 1- 0 NICE
Nice was held back from closing in on the top two.
An early goal in the fourth minute from Mama Bal de was enough to get newly-promoted Troyes their second victory of the season

BREST 1-1 REIMS
Brest avoided a fourth straight league defeat after taking a point at home from Reims.
Frank Honorat’s goal in the 74th minute canceled the lead Wout Faes had given Riems in the 12th.
Brest is still searching for their first win of the season.
Next up is Lille.

METZ 0-3 RENNES
Rennes picked the three-point with a first-half lead.

STRASBOURG 5- 1 SAINT – ETIENNE
Saint-Etienne’s chase for their first win of the season ended with them accumulating [-4] goal difference and their sixth defeat from their opening ten.

MARSEILLE 4- 1 LORIENT
Dimitri Payet assisted three while Matteo Guendouzi scored two for Marseille to come from behind and take the three points at home.
