The teams for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have been confirmed, the teams advancing to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Nations League are set, and the standings in the South American and Asian World Cup qualifiers are starting to take shape.

AFCON 2025 QUALIFIERS
The tournament is scheuduled from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026, with Morocco being the host nation.
Côte d’Ivoire will be playing as defending champions in their chase for a fourth title.

Benin, Botswana, Comoros, Gabon, Sudan, Uganda, and Zimbabwe were the nations that missed out on the last tournament but have qualified for this one.
Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, and Namibia were the nations that played in the last tournament but failed to qualify for this one.
Congo, Ethiopia, and Ghana are past winners who failed to qualify for the upcoming tournament. Ethiopia won in 1962, and Congo claimed victory in 1972. Ghana has won the tournament four times, with their most recent title coming 22 years ago in 1982.
