Two rounds left to decide the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup winners.
The final four teams have paid their dues to get to the semifinals.
Both tournament favorites (Mexico and United States) are alive and on a path that allows for a meeting on the grand stage.
The final is scheduled for August 1, 2021.

Qatar vs United States
QATAR
Qatar was Group D winner.
They were in a group with Honduras, Panama, and Grenada.
They won two of their three group matches, outsourcing 9 -3 and suffering no defeat.
They made things difficult in the final 30 minutes when they gave up a 3-goal lead to hang on to a one-goal lead against El Salvador. They made it to the semifinal by a 3-2 win in the quarter-finals against El Salvador.
UNITED STATES
A 100% win in Group B, scoring 8-1.
The United States might not have been as convincing with the narrow wins they had against Haiti and Canada, but they kept a 100% winning record and won Group B.
It was another narrow win in the quarter-finals. A ‘1-0’ victory against Jamaica booked United States a semifinal date with Qatar.

Mexico vs Canada
MEXICO
They kicked off their competition with a goalless draw against Trinidad and Tobagao, but that didn’t stop Mexico from doing the expected and winning Group A.
They won the group without defeat and without conceding a goal. Two wins from three and outsourcing their group mates by 4 goals. El Salvador, Trinidad and Tobago, and Guatemala were in the group with Mexico.
Beating Honduras 3-0 in the quarterfinals sent Mexico to the semifinal without conceding a goal. Mexico is guaranteed the title if they can keep this streak going.
CANADA
Canada came in second to the United States in Group B.
Couldn’t have expected any more from Canada than what they’ve done so far. They finished second in Group B as expected, winning the matches in which they were the favorites to win and losing the one they were not. Their only defeat in the group was against the United States.
Before ending the group stage with a narrow defeat to the United States, Canada was 4-1 winners against both Martinique and Haiti. They secured their place in the semifinal with a 2-0 win against Costa Rica in the quarterfinal.
To reach the final, Canada will have to do what no other side has done in this tournament by scoring against Mexico.
