4| Club Brugge – 4 points

RB Leipzig used a win against Manchester City to advance while Club Brugge suffered a 4-1 defeat in Paris.

GROUP B
1| Liverpool – 18 points
2| Atletico Madrid – 7 points
3| Porto – 5 points
4| AC Milan – 4 points

Unfortunately for AC Milan, the points they desperately needed were against a Liverpool team that is looking to complete the group stage with a perfect winning record.

Since Liverpool got the expected result against AC Milan, Porto and Atletico Madrid’s objective remained as it was from the kickoff. Porto needed a draw and Atletico Madrid needed a win.

Atletico Madrid rose from the bottom of the table to advance from Group B at Porto’s expense.

PORTO 1-3 ATLETICO MADRID
Things got feisty after Antoine Griezmann scored the game-opening goal to give Atletico Madrid the lead. Both teams had a player sent off on a red card in the second half. The space created by the absence of two players ended up benefiting Atletico Madrid in the counterattacks.

GROUP C
1| Ajax – 18 points
2| Sporting CP – 9 points
3| Borussia Dortmund – 9 points
4| Besiktas – 0 points

A 4-2 win against Sporting CP in Amsterdam allowed Ajax to close Group C with a 100% winning record. In the other game, Dortmund sent Besiktas out without a win.

GROUP D

2| Inter Milan – 10 points
3| Sheriff Tiraspol – 7 points

REAL MADRID 2-0 INTER MILAN
It was always going to be difficult for Inter Milan to get a win in Madrid to win Group D. It didn’t get any easier for Inter Milan when they went down a goal in the opening 20 minutes of the game and went down a man in the opening 20 minutes of the second half.
Marco Asensio scored a beauty to the 79th minute to kill the game.

SHAKHTAR DONETSK 1-1 SHERIFF TIRASPOL

BENFICA 2- 0 DYNAMO KYIV
BAYERN MUNICH 3- 0 BARCELONA

Barcelona is heading into the Europa League.
[They are really missing that guy.]
Barcelona needed to win in Munich or get some help from Dynamo Kyiv in Lisbon. Both outcomes didn’t happen.

The task only got more difficult for Barcelona when Dynamo Kyiv fell two goals behind in the opening 22 minutes of their match in Lisbon.
Barcelona at that point needed a performance that was going to yield goals.
Barcelona went down a goal in the 34th minute after Thomas Muller’s dipping header crossed the goal line before getting cleared.
Leroy Sane’s wonder strike towards the end of the opening half allowed Bayern Munich to go into the break 2-0 up. It was over for Barcelona from that point.

GROUP F
1| Manchester United – 11 points
2| Villarreal – 10 points
3| Atalanta – 6 points
4| Young Boys – 5 points

Manchester United won the group without being able to beat Young Boys.

MANCHESTER UNITED 1-1 YOUNG BOYS
ATALANTA 2-3 VILLARREAL

Atalanta couldn’t make home advantage count.
Villarreal knew a point from a draw was all they needed but made things difficult for Atalanta by taking a 3-0 lead in the first 50 minutes of the 90. Atalanta got the gap down to a goal but not many would expect anything better than a draw after 3-0 down.

Villarreal to advance with Manchester United.

GROUP G
1| Lille – 11 points
2| Salzburg – 10 points
3| Sevilla – 6 points
4| Wolfsburg – 5 points

It was always the most difficult group to predict, and it lived up to the expectation.

The four members of Group G were alive in the final round.

Lille was fine with a point but they got the win in Wolfsburg to win Group G.
Salzburg made home advantage count and took a 1-0 victory to advance from the group.

WOLFSBURG 1- 3 LILLE

GROUP H
1| Juventus – 15 points
2| Chelsea – 13 points
3| Zenit – 5 points
4| Malmo FF – 1 point

Chelsea thought they had done enough to win the group when Timo Werner scored in the 85th minute to restore their goal lead on Zenit.

Magomed Ozdoev had other ideas.
Ozdoev scored four minutes in the final additional minutes to get Zenit their first point in the group, while also denying Chelsea from winning Group H.
Juventus takes a narrow win at home against Malmo to win Group H

JUVENTUS 1- 0 MALMO
ZENIT 3- 3 CHELSEA
