German Bundesliga

Thanks to Mainz (and Dortmund), Bayern Munich kept the German Bundesliga title for the 11th straight year.

 

 

German Bundesliga:

Bayern Munich got the win and the help from Mainz to keep the Bundesliga title for the 11th season.
Dortmund collapsed at home against a Mainz side that had nothing to lose or gain from the final result.
Union Berlin got the win to hold on to 4th place and Champions League football.

Wolfsburg dropped to 7th after a defeat in Berlin against bottom-tabled Hertha Berlin. This kept Leverkusen’s position safe.
Frankfurt moved up a position to 7th with a win against Freiburg.

Monchengladbach finished ‘top 10’ by beating Augsburg.
Stuggart dropped into the relegation playoff spot after a ‘1-1’ draw with Hoffenheim.
Bochum moved out of the relegation playoff spot with a ‘3-0’ win over Leverkusen.

Schalke is relegated with Hertha Berlin after a 4-2 defeat in Leipzig. Christopher Nkunku scored two goals in the game to finish the season as the joint-top scorer with Niclas Fullkrug (Werder Bremen). Nkunku wins the Torjägerkanone.

The 2022-2023 Bundesliga season ended in a thrilling finish, with Bayern Munich edging out Borussia Dortmund to win the title.
Bayern Munich were pushed to the limit by a determined Borussia Dortmund side, resulting in a captivating title race that will be remembered for years to come, even if Dortmund fans would rather forget it. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund finished on equal points, but Bayern Munich won the title on goal difference.

Borussia Dortmund put up a brave fight against Mainz, coming back from behind to draw 2-2 with goals from Raphael Guerreiro and Niklas Sule. However, their efforts were not enough as Bayern Munich secured a narrow 2-1 victory over FC Köln, thanks to goals from Kingsley Coman and Jamal Musiala.

Union Berlin and Freiburg were in a close race to qualify for the Champions League. Union Berlin secured a spot in the Champions League, joining RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich, after defeating Werder Bremen 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Rani Khedira. Freiburg, on the other hand, lost 2-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt, with Randal Kolo Muani and Eric Ebimbe scoring the goals for Frankfurt.
