The final shortlist for #SOTW included…
Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint-Germain – Amiens) (French Ligue 1) – for scoring the winning goal to get title favorite Paris Saint-Germain on the right track, while getting himself on track to defending his ‘top scorer’ title from the 2016/17 season.
Joao Moutinho (Monaco – Toulouse) {French Ligue 1} – Controlling the attacking play for AS Monaco to avoid a terrible start to their title defense season at home to Toulouse.
Sven Ulreich (Borussia Dortmund – Bayern Munich) {German Super Cup} – for making the saves needed for Bayern Munich to start their season with the first title available in German football.
But the SOTW will have to go to
Saed Kolasinac
(Arsenal – Chelsea) {FA Community Shield}
In his first competitive match with Arsenal, Saed Kolasinac was responsible for the late equalizer that sent the match into penalty kick-off for Arsenal to win the 2017 FA Community Shield.
