Stalemate between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig – German Bundesliga Round 21

Bundesliga

None of the teams in the top four managed a win. Borussia Monchengladbach’s excuse will be that their match was postponed.
Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig shared a point to keep the gap at the top of the top of the league standings to a point.
Borussia Dortmund’s position in third might only be that way because Borussia Monchengladbach didn’t have the opportunity to play their fixture and capitalize Dortmund’s defeat at Leverkusen.

Positionally, the teams in the top 8 are where they were at the start of the round.
Paderborn picked up a point at Schalke but are glued to the bottom of the league.

With the goalless draw between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, there isn’t a change in the leading scorers, Robert Lewandowski stays top with 22 goals.

Bayern Munich 0-0 RB Leipzig

Timothy Chandler and Filip Kostic scored two goals each to sandwich Andre Silva’s 55th-minute goal for Eintracht Frankfurt to kick off the round with a 5-0 win at home against Augsburg.
Frankfurt has now gone 5 consecutive matches without defeat (4 wins and a draw) after going 6 competitive matches without a win (5 defeats and 1 draw).

Gian-Luca Waldschmidt scored from the spot to see Freiburg pick up three points at home against Hoffenheim. The result saw Freiburg avoid a third straight defeat in the league, while denying Hoffenheim from bouncing back from their elimination from the DFB-Pokal over the week.

Robin Quaison’s hat-trick led Mainz to a ‘3-1’ away victory against Hertha Berlin. Mainz ended a run of 4 straight defeats in the league with that result.

Schalke dropped two points at home against bottom table Paderborn.
Klaus Gjasula found the equalizer for Paderborn in the 81st minute to pick up point from a ‘1-1’ draw with Schalke.

Marius Butler scored both goals for Union Berlin to leave Werder Bremen with all three points.
Hoffenheim is now on a three match losing streak in the league.

Wolfsburg and Fortuna Dusseldorf share the points with a ‘1-1’ draw.

Bayer Leverkusen ended up on the right side of a 7-goal thriller with Borussia Dortmund. Kevin Volland scored two as Leverkusen fought back a goal down on two occasions to win with two goals a minute apart.

Leon Bailey and Lars Bender found the third and fourth goal respectively within a space of two minutes for Leverkusen to take all points in the final 10 minutes of the regulation time.

With the top spot on the line, Bayern Munich and Rb Leipzig shared the points in a goalless draw at the Allianz Arena.
The two teams will end the season without getting the better of the other. The result meant Leipzig hasn’t won any of their last 4 competitive matches.
