GROUP E

Both Chelsea and Sevilla advance after a ‘2-1’ away victory in their respective games away. Olivier Giroud wins it late for Chelsea while Munir El Haddadi wins it late for Sevilla.

Rennes failed to make amends for the 3 goals conceded at Stamford Bridge at Roazhon Park. Rennes were close to a point at home but ended up giving away all the points to Chelsea.

Sevilla came from two goals down to pick up a narrow 3-2 win at home against Krasnodar in the last round. At home, Sevilla needed a late goal to get a win after giving up an early goal lead.

GROUP F

Erling Braut Haaland scored a brace as Dortmund won another against Club Brugge. Haaland has 16 goals after 12 UEFA Champions League appearances.

Lazio left St.Petersburg with a point from a 1-1 draw against Zenit; and made up for the dropped points with a win in Rome with a 3-1 win.

Club Brugge suffered a defeat by a repeated score line against Borussia Dortmund. (3-0)

GROUP G

Juventus controlled most of the second half.
Deservedly won through a late Álvaro Morata’s headed goal in added-time goal
The win at home wasn’t as big as the away win for Juventus, but it was a win nonetheless. Alvaro Morata scored the late winner for Juventus to clinch a spot in the final 16 with a 2-1 win against Ferencvaros.

On the other end, 4 goals were scored in the second half of the Dynamo Kyiv vs Barcelona match. All 4 goals were conceded by the home team. A Messi-less Barcelona booked their place in the round of 16 with a 4-0 win in Ukraine.

Sergiño Dest and Martin Braithwaite both scored their first CL goals to give Barcelona a 2-0 lead that went on to finish as a 4-0 win Ukraine. Braithwaite went on to score another.

GROUP H

Manchester United also made up for their ‘2-1’ defeat in Istanbul when Istanbul Basaksehir came to Old Trafford. It finished a ‘4-1’ win for Manchester United. Manchester United moved clear at the top of Group H after their display at thop against Istanbul Basaksehir.

A narrow 1-0 win allowed PSG to make up for their defeat in Leipzig when RB Leipzig came to Paris.
RB Leipzig dominated for large periods of the match but couldn’t find the goal to cancel out Neymar’s goal from the penalty spot in the 11th-minute.

GROUP A

Bayern Munich advances to the Round of 16 as Group A winners.
In the last match, Salzburg held on for most of the match but ended up suffering a 6-2 defeat at home to Bayern Munich. Not much changed this time around but both teams scoring half the goals they scored in their first meeting.

Lokomotiv Moscow picked up a point against Atletico Madrid in both games. A 1-1 draw at home and a goalless draw in Madrid. With these results, Atletico Madrid are not expected to be content.

GROUP B

Borussia Monchengladbach 10-0 0agg) Shakhtar Donetsk
It looked like a repeat result from their first meeting when Monchengladbach went into the break with a 3-0 lead.
Monchengladbach added to their 6-0 win in Ukraine with a 4-0 win at home over Shakhtar Donetsk.

Real Madrid doubled their success against Inter Milan.
It was a 2-0 win for Real Madrid at the San Siro.
Granted that Inter Milan had to play the majority of the match with a numerical disadvantage, they didn’t look to have what it took to win the game against Madrid.

Inter Milan stays as the only side without a win in the Group. Not a good stat to have when you come into the tournament as one of the favorites in your group.

GROUP C

Olympiacos were 3-0 losers in Manchester and were losers against at home. Manchester City clinched a place in the final 16 with a 1-0 win in Piraeus.

Marseille needed to make up for a 3-0 defeat when Porto paid them a visit but made it a 13 straight UCL defeat after a 2-0 loss at home.

GROUP D

While Midtjylland became the first team to be eliminated from continental football in Europe, wins from Ajax and Atalanta has left Group D wide open with three teams that are very much alive and all to play for.

Atlanta was hammered ‘5-0’ at home; and at Anfield, we thought the results will only go in one direction; a Liverpool win.
Atalanta went to Anfield to make amends by grabbing back the three points from a 2-0 win.

Ajax picked up their first win of the tournament after a 2-1 win Midtjylland. They doubled their wins at home with a 3-1 win this time around.
