Romania 1-1 Switzerland
Bogdan Stancu (18’) pen. Admir Mehmedi (57’)
Switzerland keeps their ‘Round of 16’ advancement alive, with a 1-1 draw against Romania.
Shirt tucking right in front of the referee gave away a penalty to Romania. Bogdan Stancu made no mistakes about it and converted the spot kick. Romania was up 1-0 in the 18th minute.
Switzerland found the equalizer in the 57th minute from a corner kick. Ricardo Rodriguez’s corner kick bounced back in position for Admir Mehmet to volley home an equalizer.
A point was good enough for the Swiss. They came into the match with a win to their name. Getting points from their first two matches was very important, as their next match is against the host nation, France.

This was Romania’s first point in two matches, and that is might not be good enough if they don’t find a win against Albania in their last Group A match. Albania is a debutant looking for their first point in European Competition. This should be a cracking match.
Switzerland sits temporarily as the leaders in Group A
