Spanish La Liga

Real Madrid keeps up the pace with Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga race after Round 28. The 2019/20 season is wide open for all teams.

10 more matches to go. 30 point-gaps are still within reach. No position is safe.
The 3 first-half goals was enough for Real Madrid to get three points at home against Eibar to keep the gap in the title race to 2 points; after Barcelona picked up a 4-0 win against Mallorca.

The top three teams in the league standings kicked-off the restart of the season with wins. And despite Real Sociedad failure to win their match, the top four stayed the same.
Despite failing to get a win, Atletci Madrid moved up from 6th to 5th with a ‘1-1’ draw.

Espanyol is the only side in the bottom 5 to pick up a win. A win against Alaves allowed bottom table Espanyo to grab points to equal Leganes in points.

Lionel Messi became the first to hit the 20-goal mark while taking his assist to 14.

Sevilla wins El Gran Derbi and become the 3rd team to reach 50 points in the 2019/20 Spanish La Liga season. Two second-half goals allowed Sevilla to do a league double over Real Betis and tighten their grip on third-place in the league.

Granada came from a goal down to take three points against Getafe. The result allowed Granada to cut the point-gap between the two teams to 5.

Two late goals in the second-half was evenly shared between Valencia and Levante, but it would feel like a defeat for Valencia. A late penalty deep into the additional time allowed a 10-man Levante side to leave with a point.

Espanyol scored a late first-half goal and an early second-half goal to pick up the three points at home against a 10-man Alaves. Fernando Pacheco was sent off on a red in the 19th-minute to leave the visitors with a numerical disadvantage.

A late goal made Villarreal the first away side to win over the round. Manuel Trigueros scored the only goal of the match in the first minute of the additional time to secure all three points for Villarreal against Celta Vigo.

An early goal in the 2nd-minute guided Real Valladolid to a 2-1 win at Leganes.

Martin Braitwaite opened his goal scoring account for Barcelona, while Lionel Messi contributed a goal and two assists to Barcelona’s 4-0 win at Mallorca. Arturo Vidal had Barcelona in the winning position with a goal in the 2nd-minute

The best Atletico Madrid could do after knocking Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League was to pick up a point at San Mames. Atletico Club and Atletico Madrid shared the points after a 1-1 draw.
