Real Madrid and Barcelona tied in points at 65,

both teams will have 8 matches to chase the league title.

Some questionable calls but Real Madrid comes out on top against Real Sociedad.
Real Madrid climbed to the top of the pile as the new league leaders. They are in the driver’s seat and are aware that winning their remaining 8 matches will guarantee them the title. They can only drop points if Barcelona does the same.

A goalless draw between Sevilla and Barcelona ended up dropping both teams down a notch in the league table. Barcelona dropped from 1st to 2nd, while Sevilla dropped for 3rd to 4th. Both teams have accumulated the same points as the teams that replaced them.

Atletico Madrid leaps over Sevilla with a 1-0 win against Real Valladolid.

Villarreal made it 3 wins in a row after a ‘1-0’ away victory at Granada. It was the first league defeat for Granada in 7 matches. The result gave Villarreal a 5-point lead on Granada in the league standings.

Oscar Rodriguez scored late to see Leganes avoid defeat to their relegation partners Mallorca. Both teams could have used the three points from a win to move closer to the exits of the relegation zone, but at least they didn’t leave empty-handed.

Levante beats Espanyol in the second half to leave with 3 points from a ‘3-1’ victory. A first league victory for Levante since beating Real Madrid 5 matches ago.

An early lead was protected to see Athletic Club keep the three points at home against Real Betis.

Rafinha scored two goals as Celta Vigo scored 6 against Alaves without getting a response. A needed victory and morale for Celta Vigo in the battle against relegation.

Valencia gets their first win in four league matches after a 2-0 win against Osasuna.
