Eleven consecutive league victories for Chelsea.

An away victory over Crystal Palace secured Chelsea’s 6 points lead at the top of the league standings, and could potentially move to a 9-point lead if their closest rivals (Arsenal and Liverpool) fall in their respective fixtures.

Both teams started the match with the same number of wins in the league. With the help of home supporters,  Middlesbrough got a victory over Swansea City to secure their fourth league win in the 2016/17 season.

 

The defeat for Swansea City keeps them in the relegation zone.

We know that the defending champions are not looking like champions, but Leicester City came from a goal down and a man down to fight for an away point against Stoke City.

Jamie Vardy was sent about 10 minutes before Leicester conceded the first goal of the match.  Before the halftime break, Joe Allen added another goal to help Stoke City send Leicester to the dressing room with a two-goal deficit.

Leicester City reminded us why they won the title when they held on for most of the second half to score two goals in the final quarter of the match and leave with an important away point.

It was a deserved home victory for Manchester City.

Manchester City came from a goal down and scored two second half goals to avoid a home defeat to Arsenal. The victory allowed Manchester City to leaped over Arsenal in the league standings.

A home win over newly-promoted Burnley gave Tottenham Hotspur a consecutive league victory.  Danny Rose’s second-half goal was the difference between the two sides.

Merseyside is Red!

Eight minutes of additional time allowed Liverpool time to get a late winner in the first Merseyside Derby of the 2016/17 Premier League season.

It was a big win for Liverpool. A win that makes them the only team that is closer to deny Chelsea of a league title at the moment.

On the balance of play, it was a deserved victory for the away side.
