🇪🇸 Mallorca (1) – (0) Real Sociedad
Abdon Prats converted from the penalty spot in the 36th minute to score the game’s only goal, giving Mallorca a home win over Real Sociedad. The result doubled Mallorca’s wins in the league, while leaving Real Sociedad with just a single win, having lost four of their six games played.

🇳🇱 FC Twente (2) – (0) Heerenveen
After their 9-1 hammering by AZ Alkmaar over the weekend, Heerenveen suffered another league defeat, this time by a smaller margin. Sem Steijn scored both goals in the first half, securing three points for Twente at Heerenveen’s expense.

Brentford, Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Preston North End, Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton, and Stoke City all advanced in the EFL Cup.
Manchester United secured their place by scoring 7 goals against Barnsley without conceding.
Everton and Fulham were both eliminated in penalty shootouts after 1-1 draws—Everton against Southampton and Fulham against Preston North End.
Stoke City knocked out Fleetwood Town through a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw.

Real Betis ( 2 ) – ( 1 ) Getafe
Getafe remains winless in La Liga after Giovani Lo Celso scored two goals to secure a victory for Real Betis.

(Dutch Eredivisie)

Ajax ( 5 ) – ( 0 ) Fortuna Sittard
Ajax, still with two games in hand, grabbed three points with a commanding 5-0 win over Fortuna Sittard. As things stand, Ajax will move up to third in the Eredivisie standings if the win both of their games in hand.

(EFL Cup)

Brighton & Hove Albion ( 3 ) – ( 2 ) Wolverhampton Wanderers
Coventry City ( 1 ) – ( 2 ) Tottenham Hotspur
Wolves got a late goal to narrow the margin, but Brighton held on to win 3-2. Tottenham, meanwhile, came from behind with two late goals to win away against Coventry City.

Two goals in the second half handed Athletic Club three points at Leganes expense. Daniel Vivian and Inaki Williams were the goalscorers.
