History says Bayern Munich but form says Arsenal.
The last three matches between Arsenal and Bayern Munich in the Champions League ended in a ‘5-1’ victory for Bayern Munich.
While Bayern Munich has been a consistent participant in the Champions League every year, Arsenal has been absent from the tournament. This season marks Arsenal’s return to the Champions League since the 2016/17 season, where they were eliminated by Bayern Munich in a 10-2 aggregate defeat in the Round of 16; 5-1 in Munich, and another 5-1 in London.
While Arsenal currently leads the Premier League and aims to secure the league title for the first time since 2004, Bayern Munich finds themselves trailing by 16 points in the Bundesliga table and is on the brink of losing the league title for the first time in 12 seasons.
Real Madrid vs. Manchester City /champions league
The reigning champions will host the most successful club in the tournament. Manchester City will take on Real Madrid.
For the third consecutive year, Manchester City and Real Madrid are set to face each other in the knockout stage of the Champions League, with the previous two encounters occurring in the semifinals. However, this time, they meet in the quarterfinals.
In the 2021/22 Champions League season, Real Madrid defied expectations by eliminating Manchester City (6-5 on aggregate) in the semifinals and ultimately went on to win the title.
In the following season (2022/23), Manchester City comfortably defeated Real Madrid (5-1 on aggregate) in the semifinals and subsequently clinched the title.
We await the outcome of their matchup in the 2023/24 season.
