A penalty call in the 83rd minute opened the scoring to allow two late goals in the dying minutes for Athletic Club to find the win that gave them the bounce from their defeat at Madrid with a victory against bottom table Huesca. It was the first win in 5 games for Athletic Club, and a quick return to losing ways for Huesca securing the first win of the season in the last round against Alaves. (Alaves 1-2 Huesca).

Luis Suarez scored two goals in Atletico Madrid’s 3-1 win against Elche. The win keeps Atletico Madrid comfortably ahead of the pile with games in hand to stretch the lead further.

Lionel Messi scored his 643rd goal for Barcelona to equal Pele’s record for the most goals scored for one club. (Pele for Santos). Despite the goal and another from Ronald Araujo, Barcelona failed to grab all three points and shared the points with Valencia in a 2-all draw.

A 2-1 defeat against Levante marked a consecutive defeat and 5 straight league games without win for Real Sociedad. Second-half substitute Jorge de Frutos scored the winner in the dying minutes for Levante to complete the comeback and pick up three points.

 

 

 

Going down a goal and going down a man in the opening 20 minutes of the game didn’t help Osasuna’s cause. Villarreal picked up a 3-1 win against Osasuna.

Real Valladolid managed a point at Sevilla.

Four league wins on the bounce for Cleta Vigo since losing away against Sevilla. Brias Mendez supplied both goals for Celta Vigo against Alaves.

Roberto Soldado supplied both goals in the opening half for Granada to win at home against Real Betis.

Getafe won 2-0 at Cadiz. Cadiz suffered a consecutive league defeat since their win against Barcelona while Getafe picked up their first league win since their success against Barcelona. (7 games).

Four league wins in a row for Real Madrid after a 3-1 win against Eibar. Real Madrid tied Atletico Madrid in points at the top of the league standings.
