Ajaccio’s relegation was confirmed after suffering a heavy 5-0 defeat against Paris St. Germain. Meanwhile, Paris St. Germain moved closer to clinching the league title, needing just one more win to secure the championship.
Lens and Marseille continue to compete for second place and direct qualification to the Champions League. Lens followed their win against Marseille by coming from a goal down to maintain second place with a 2-1 victory against Reims. Marseille recovered from their defeat to Lens with a win against relegated Angers.
Brest widened the gap to four points ahead of Auxerre and five points ahead of the relegation zone, while Auxerre remained one point outside of the relegation zone.
Nantes remained in the relegation zone but boosted their relegation fight by earning a point from a goalless draw in Toulouse.
