Paris St. Germain tightened their grip on first place with a 5-2 win against Monaco. The result doubled the point-gap between the two.
A player from both teams was sent off at the end of the half, Alidu Seidu for Clermont, and Elye Wahi for Lens, with Wahi having scored the only goal of the first half to set Lens up for a 3-1 win in Clermont.
The goals came in the opening half-hour as a point remains between Strasbourg and Marseille in the league standings after they shared the points in a 1-1 draw.
Terem Moffi scored the only goal of the game to secure three points from Nice at the expense of Toulouse.
Ablie Jallow converted from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute to complete the comeback for Metz, using a 2-0 second-half lead to pick up three points in a 3-2 win in Lorient.
Brest won their first game in six, ending a three-successive league defeat streak with a 3-1 win in Montpellier.
Despite their dominance, Nantes could not secure a home win against Le Havre.
Rennes bounced back from defeat to Lyon with a 3-1 win at home against Reims.
Lyon was back home and back to dropping points as they followed their first league win of the season with a 2-0 defeat against Lille.
