Despite missing a penalty, Cristiano Ronaldo was able to score a hattrick against Alaves to bring Real Madrid from a goal down to get a win that keeps Madrid in the pole position.

Atletico Madrid bounced from their away defeat against Sevilla with a home win over Malaga.  

Ignacio Camacho’s goal for Malaga in the second half brought more interest to the match, but Atletico Madrid looked confident throughout the match

Barcelona                         1-0                 Granada

Granada’s defensive approach paid off as Rafinha’s second-half goal for Barcelona was the only goal scored in this match enough to give Barcelona the three points.

Going against FC Barcelona, Granada knew that strong defense was their only hope to coming out of the fixture with a point.  

Granada remains winless after ten league matches.

Bruno Soriano’s late first half goal for Villarreal had the home team trailing the match up to the 80th minute.

Osasuna held on to deny Athletic Club a deserved win.

Espanyol became undefeated in five consecutive league matches after an away victory over Real Betis.

It was a victory that brought Espanyol equal on points with Real Betis on the league standings.

A six-goal thriller saw Celta Vigo blow a three goal lead to allow Las Palmas to finish the match with a point.

Going to the break 3-0 up at the half, not many would have expected Celta Vigo to leave Las Palmas without maximum points. But football is unpredictable.

After the restart, Pedro Bigas scored for Las Palmas to pull one back.

Things then went further south for Celta Vigo when Sergi Gomez was sent off after a second yellow card for a foul that brought about a penalty for Las Palmas to cut the Celta Vigo’s lead to a single goal.

Within two minutes after gaining a numerical advantage,  Celta Vigo got the equalizing goal from  Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Two teams who are not too far apart on the league table played out a ‘1-1’ draw. Valencia had to come from behind to get an away point against Deportivo La Coruna.
