German Bundesliga

It’s EIGHT!!!!!!!! in a row for Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich wins their 8th league title with Robert Lewandowski stretching his lead in the European Golden Boot race.

Bayern Munich wins the Bundesliga title with 2 mathes to spare; and with Borussia Dortmund losing their match, Bayern Munich could have secured the league title without the need of a win against Werder Bremen. (Werder Bremen could have used the points).

Dortmund were beaten by a Mainz side that is fighting for safety.
RB Leipzig blew a two goal lead in the dying minutes against a Dusseldorf side that is fighting for safety.

Leverkusen picked up three points against Koln to keep a point ahead of Monchengladbach; who opened the round with a win against Wolfsburg.

The gap between the top 5 and the remainder of the league widens to 13 points after Monchengladbach’s 3-0 victory against Wolfsburg.
Hoffenhiem used a ‘3-1’ away win against Augsburg to equal Wolfsburg in points.
Freiburg beat Hertha Berlin to be a point behind both Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim in points accumulated

Frankfurt gets a win to keep Schalke without a victory in 14 league matches.

Union Berlin’s win against Paderborn allowed the side to equal their city rival (Hertha Berlin) in points accumulated.

One more direct relegation place in the league left: and Werder Bremen are the occupant.
Two more rounds remain for Werder Bremen to give up their position in the league to someone else. And if any team should inherit their place in the league, Dusseldorf is the team to do so. A win against Mainz is required in the next round to keep Werder Bremen’s hope alive.
