Borussia Mönchengladbach ( 2 ) – ( 3 ) Bayer Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen once again displayed their knack for late drama, securing all three points with a last-minute goal in a thrilling encounter against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Leverkusen were on the verge of settling for a draw in their opening match of the round after squandering a two-goal lead from the first half. However, a late penalty in the dying minutes changed the narrative. Although Florian Wirtz initially missed the spot-kick, he quickly redeemed himself by pouncing on the rebound to clinch the victory and get his second goal of the match.

Augsburg ( 2 ) – ( 2 ) Werder Bremen
Augsburg and Werder Bremen both gave up a lead to share the points in a 2-all draw for their opening match of the Bundesliga season.

Freiburg ( 3 ) – ( 1 ) Stuttgart
An early lead in the second minute of the match didn’t stop Stuttgart from ending the first match of the season with a defeat in Freiburg. Lukas Kübler scored in each half to help Freiburg come from behind and win 3-1.

Hoffenheim ( 3 ) – ( 2 ) Holstein Kiel
An Andrej Kramarić hat trick was needed by Hoffenheim to seal a winning start to their season at home against newly-promoted Holstein Kiel.

Mainz ( 1 ) – ( 1 ) Union Berlin
The points were shared between Mainz and Union Berlin after a goal apiece in the second half.

RB Leipzig ( 1 ) – ( 0 ) Bochum
Antonio Nusa entered the game in the 55th minute and scored the only goal of the game in the 59th minute to give RB Leipzig a win at home against Bochum in their season-opening fixture.

Borussia Dortmund ( 2 ) – ( 0 ) Eintracht Frankfurt
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens entered the game after an hour of play and scored both goals in Dortmund’s 2-0 home win against Frankfurt.

Wolfsburg ( 2 ) – ( 3 ) Bayern Munich
