Honduras (Los Catrachos) in Brazil……..
This is their 3rd appearance in the competition, and it will be the first time Honduras has made it a ‘back to back’ appearance in the Fifa World Cup.

The one time continental champions made it into the competition with a direct qualification of an almost even record of 4-3-3 (W-D-L) in the CONCACAF fourth round qualification group.
Their goal in this competition will be to improve their Fifa World Cup records by advancing out of their group.
The Venom
Up front is the MLS man, Jerry Bengtson. Bengston is part of the NE Revolution line-up. He was responsible for almost a 3rd of the goals Honduras scored during their qualifiers.
There is also the big man up front; Carlo Costly. Costly is another forward Los Catrachos will be depending on to make a purpose of their offensive surges.
The Control and Support
Wilson Palacious would be one to watch. He has spent most of his senior playing career in the Premiership, playing with and against various top class teams in the world. He is there to break oppositions attack and assist in originating an Honduras attack.
Oscar Garcia, Marvin Chavez, Andy Najar and Arnold Peralta are other midfielder to look for in the center of the team.
The Bouncers
Defense will be counted on to keep the likes of France and Switzerland at bay. There are a few defenders on the team we can call on to hinder the progress of a world class attacking opposition.
Osman Chavez, Maynor Figueroa, Emilio Izaguirre, Victor Bernardez and Roger Espinoza will be tipped to be the potential outstanding men in the back line
So what is it for Honduras?
The expectations on this team will obviously not be a load of pressure to win. To get into the Round of 16 will be an improvement for this team. It will call for great discipline and tactical approach to secure points in Group E. The odds will not be in Honduras favor.
This is futbol, there will be some drama, suspense and surprises. And that is why we will have to be watching to see if Honduras can make any advantage they get in this tournament count.
